With less than a month to go before Orgalim’s ‘Reinventing Europe’s industrial leadership’ event on 12 November, we are delighted to present a roundup of the speakers confirmed and the latest additions to the programme. As only a limited number of spaces are still available for this invitation-only event, we recommend to contact our communications team as soon as possible if you are interested in attending.

Taking place at the Arsenal venue in Brussels, the event is set to bring over 100 leading figures from European industry and policy together for an afternoon of insightful debate and discussion on how the EU can build on its industries’ strengths towards 2030 and beyond. With industrial strategy firmly back in the political limelight, we will tackle the burning questions facing Europe at the start of a new EU legislative term. Is Europe really losing the race for industrial leadership? What can the EU do to safeguard companies’ competitiveness and harness the potential of technology transformation? How can we stay ahead in a changing global landscape while staying true to the values of openness, innovation and free and fair competition on which European technology companies have built their success in recent decades?

Leading speakers from the worlds of industry and policy

Kicking off the afternoon will be a keynote address from innovation leader and digital transformation expert Claudia Olsson, who will present a fresh perspective on industry’s role in the society of tomorrow. This will be followed by two panel discussions moderated by Michael Peel of the Financial Times, approaching the question of reinventing Europe’s industrial leadership from two distinct angles: first, the CEOs’ perspective of the challenges and opportunities ahead; then with a view to the policy framework as panelists from industry and policymaking discuss how the EU can shape an industrial strategy that delivers for citizens.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Tomas Hedenborg, Senior Adviser to the Board, Fastems and President, Orgalim
  • Rada Rodriguez, Member of the Management Board, Schneider Electric GmbH and Deputy President, Orgalim

Recognising innovation: CTO of the Year Europe 2019

Another highlight will be the introduction of nominees and presentation of the ‘CTO of the Year Europe 2019’ award. Orgalim is a partner to the award this year, which is given in recognition of the continent’s most prominent technology leaders. Nominations are already in for the two categories large companies and SMEs: all still under strictest embargo of course… but we can already let you know that the judges will have their work cut out for them, as they must choose the winners from a pool of truly exceptional tech pioneers.

Engage - Exchange - Connect

A creative networking reception will round out the event, giving guests a unique opportunity to meet with senior industry leaders from across Orgalim’s European network.
