EU Industry Days will be held on 5-6 February 2019, and Orgalim has once again been selected to host a stakeholder session – this time focusing on industrial AI. Orgalim’s session is scheduled to take place on 6 February from 12:00 to 1:30 pm.

Orgalim’s session ‘Industrial Artificial Intelligence (AI) - Solutions for Europe’s 2030 challenges’ will shine a spotlight on a technology that is set to deliver enormous value for Europe’s economy and citizens – but that often gets overlooked in the hype surrounding other forms of AI. Speakers will address this information gap by analysing how AI can boost Europe’s competitiveness, while addressing societal challenges from climate change to mobility to healthcare – focusing on real-world applications and the role of the EU policy framework.

Our session will start with a fireside chat between Orgalim’s Director General Malte Lohan and our session moderator, EU tech policy reporter Jennifer Baker. This will be followed by a panel discussion where representatives of both SMEs and large corporations will join speakers from policy and civil society to analyse the opportunities of AI for Europe. Panelists include:

  • Tomas Hedenborg, Group CEO, FASTEMS / Orgalim President
  • Laura Juvonen, Executive Director, Technology Industries of Finland
  • Lucilla Sioli, Director, Digital Industry at European Commission
  • Radu Surdeanu, Senior Director Digital Economy, Siemens, and
  • Laurent Zibell, Policy advisor, IndustriAll European Trade Union.

The third edition of the EU’s flagship industrial policy event will be built around three key themes: industry and sustainability, industry and globalisation, and innovation and digitalisation. The two-day programme features a who’s-who of EU decision-makers: from Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker to European Parliament President Antonio Tajani, Commission Vice-President Jyrki Katainen and Commissioners Elżbieta Bieńkowska and Carlos Moedas.
